Some cosplay updates and a plush

So I haven't gotten any real cross stitching done, but I had an amazing Christmas! I got Shiro Amano's "The Art of Kingdom Hearts" which as an artist, I love to pieces!! I really enjoy looking at art books and the like.
As a present, I made this plush for my grandma, which she loved! It's a Kokopeli, they're a Navajo Indian spirit that plays the flute. My family goes down to New Mexico every year (did I mention that before...I kind think so) and that culture is pretty predominant there, it's really fascinating, if you have the time, you guys should visit! Anyway, it's made out of felt and it's super cute!

And while we're on the topic of plush, as a Christmas present for my boyfriend, David, I made him a paopu plush and sent it to where he lives (he lives in another state so I couldn't just give it to him). The day he got it, he posted this picture with the caption "My gf made me a Paopu fruit plushie and she has one. So now we both have one and no matter how far apart we are we are always connected." Isn't he a charmer!~

Now onto Cosplay talk!! I got my black vest for Riku done, and the majority of his white vest, it just needs trim, a collar, and another zipper. The dual separating zipper on the black vest was a real pain, I accidentally pulled both the zipper pulls off and had to fight with it and a pair of pliers to get it to work right again, all in all it's really rewarding to have it this far along!

I know this post isn't really all that entertaining, but I hope to finish up some patterns and start stitching again soon! In the meantime, I have to get ready for work.....uggghhh long shifts :(

See ya!

Cosplay, plushie, and perler beads!~

So Today was my day off from work (I have another tomorrow, but it's dedicated to last minute holiday shopping *nervous laugh* ) and I spent it doing some more crafty stuff. :) First off, my sister Ami (Alicia) and I have already decided our cosplays for next November XD and I'm cosplaying the uber sexy Riku from Kingdom Hearts II, while she will be Sora, and my friend Logan will be Leon (the Kingdom Hearts version of Squall from FFVIII).

Riku is honestly one of my favorite video game characters of all time. He starts out in the first game as this bratty, arrogant, know-it-all kind of character that is the main protagonist, Sora's, best friend and Rival. You know, they fight, they play, they taunt and tease each other, and when shit starts getting really serious, Riku winds up falling victim to the Villain's evil ploy and becoming their pawn, while in his own way trying to save his friend Kairi. Sora winds up putting his life on the line repeatedly to save both Riku and Kairi. Throughout the following games, Riku is shown trying his best to redeem himself after his mistake of going down the path of evil. In KH II we don't see Riku til almost the end of the game, he had given up his normal form for one more suited to the darkness he was using in order to protect Sora and Kairi from the back ground. We get me FAVORITE (most fangirly ever) cutscenes (Which I'm embedding below), and his path to redemption continues in the most Recent game: Dream Drop Distance.

Here's that MEGA DAAAWWW-SOME cutscene

Anyway, what all that leads up to me saying is, aside from the double Zipper for the front, I made Riku's inner Vest today. That makes me really happy!!!
Here's a pic of that, and a pic of Riku in his form once he's freed from the Darkness.

To go along with all that, I made a Paopu fruit plushie! In the game, this star shaped fruit has a special meaning. It is said, that if two people share this fruit, their destinies will become intertwined, and they'll remain a part of each other's lives, no matter what.

I made this one to share with my Sora~ I love her and I hope my Twin is a part of my life as long as I live.

the last thing I have to post today is an updated picture of my collection of FFVIII perler bead magnets! I just have one of Rinoa and Squall dancing to make, and one of Rinoa and her dog :) I would have gone ahead and made them, but once again I'm out of black beads X| anyway, I saw that Missy-Tannenbaum is doing some Kingdom Hearts patterns, and needless to say I"M SOOOOOO EXCITED TO MAKE THEM <3 <3 <3 anyway, I probably shouldn't have had so much sugar before making this post today, and should drink some tea to calm down. See you all later~!

Aqua's finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And some more FFVIII perler beads!

I feel like I should start off this post with the best news! I finished my Aqua cross stitch and turned her into a pillow <3 She looks so super cute next to Terra! I'm surprised I managed to get her done before Christmas, after all, I'm working full time now at a Subway restaurant. I'm going to make sure to finish the Digimon pattern before I begin my Ventus pattern.

Next off, I have beaded all the FFVIII characters in their normal outfits by Missy-Tannenbaum and I plan to do the variations of Selphie, Squall, and Rinoa later tonight (when my friend who invited himself in, leaves...) I have turned them all into magnets, and when I came home from work yesterday, they had been switched from the arrangement in the picture to Zell having killed all the other characters and standing on top of Edea. It was a big pick me up :)

I know this post is pretty short, but I felt it was about time I posted something exciting! In case I don't post again until they're over, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

New Simple pattern to pass the time!

Since I've been procrastinating really badly on my Digimon pattern, I made a quick pattern for the sake of posting something! It's the Unversed symbol from Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep (which I finally beat!! WOOT WOOT!) This didn't take long to make, and I can't wait to both sew it and perler bead it! I don't really have anything else to say tonight, other than Matt and Gabumon will be done eventually, until then enjoy!

Perler beading and progress

So this past weekend, my sister got a huge set of perler beads, which I honestly hadn't played with since grade-school, and I've literally been spending all my free time playing with them! I've made quite a few of Missy-Tannenbaum's patterns, and a couple of my own (really small ones, the rest were too big).

To start off I'll post the first few I made! Vincent, Kurama, and Hiei (By Missy-Tannenbaum). I made Hiei first as he's one of my all time favorite anime characters, and then I made Kurama and Vincent for my sister.
Next is the Nobody and Heartless Symbols from Kingdom Hearts (my own patterns)
Next is a Goomba from a pattern I found on Deviantart...I can't remember the creator's name right off, sadly, but it's really cute!
Then i made my favorite Avengers!~ Captain Steve Rogers and Tony Stark! (By Missy-Tannenbaum)
And Finally I made Squall and Zell from FFVII (By Missy-Tannenbaum)The details on their faces (ie. Squall's scar/Zell's tattoo) were drawn on in sharpie.

And now some sewing progress, Aqua's on her way to being done, but thanks to perler beading I haven't been working on her near as quickly.

I'm sure I'll have beaded quite a bit more by the time I post again, haha it's like an addiction, so much fun!

I'm back from the Con! And I have progress on Aqua!

I really should have done this update sooner, but I'm always sort of lazy after the con for a week or two. There were so many pretty costumes, and I had a lot of fun seeing my boyfriend!

Anyway I'm sure you want to see some pictures! First off here is our Bleach Group!

This one is of my Mother as Integra with a Seras cosplayer

And the one I'm sure you've been wanting to see, Chernobog! If you have construction questions, click this link! There are details in the description. http://kakashi-copycat-kun.deviantart.com/art/The-Master-of-Night-Chernobog-413017047

Now that the con spam is over, Here is some WIP of Aqua! I think I'll have her finished soon <3

Until Next time (which will hopefully be soon and with a new, finished pillow!)

Costume pics and some bloopers!

First off I suppose I should explain why I'm making a post without a pattern or some cross stitching done...I've been in full on convention mode, as the con is only 16 days away, and we just had skit practice this Saturday. (by we, I mean Logan, Alicia, and I) It was a lot of fun, and we even recorded some of our rehearsal (though I can't post that until after the contest, I don't want anything getting leaked :P).

On another note, I finally got around to throwing the majority of my bloopers from my Reno CMV together in a video that I thought I'd share with you. I have this as a warning in the actual video, but if you don't appreciate swearing and dirty humor, don't watch it. Anyway, here's that video!

And now I think I'll have to put in some of the pics we took while rehearsing. I'd love to post them all, but then this would just be one HUGE post.
This first picture is of me in my Hichigo cosplay without my make up on. The sword I am holding was carved out of insulation Styrofoam and sanded down into a blade, then painted.

This next picture is of Alicia in her Ichigo cosplay (with my sword strapped to her back)

And this one is of Logan in his Tensa Zangetsu cosplay.

And now I'm just going to put some fun pics here at the bottom for you all to enjoy!

The little girl here at the end is Logan's little sister Rakel, she's almost 4 years old, and had a ball playing with us all!

A new Vlog! And Gabumon's done, on to Matt!

First I'd like to embed our latest Vlog update

The lighting isn't flattering at all, and I look really pale and tired (which I was, and the lack of makeup didn't help) but anyway, here it is. The Audio is off sync too which bothers me, but oh well.

Also I finished making Gabumon finally, and will probably take a bit of a break from that pattern before working on Matt. Staring at a bunch of squares on a screen for too long hurts my eyes X( . Anyway, here it is!

This is a really short post, but I hope you enjoy!

Update and Pattern WIP

So I again haven't had time to record vlogs, I need to sit down and just record one to show all my progress! But I'll let you know how things are going. I had to take on another project cosplay wise, for my friend Logan. Last year he cosplayed Gin from Bleach: and this year he's being Tensa Zangetsu to round out Ami and I's trio of Ichigos XD.

He had originally stated a friend of his was going to help him make his costume, but eventually, he brought it to my mom and I, and it was...simply put...HORRID! The black sleeves that were supposed to be lined with white, had been made so that the outside appeared as half black and half white, not to mention everything had been sewn with a zigzag stitch and the fabric was fraying terribly, as it had been cut with random paper scissors instead of fabric scissors or pinking shears! My mom and I are completely redoing it, and are almost done. We just need to attach the sleeves, put a white lining in the front, and make a hood. I even ordered him his wig and styled it for him, it looks fantastic~!

As for the other costumes, I'm not sure if I stated this before or not, but Hichi is completely done aside from sword and sheath, Chernobog's still not had any recent progress, but my mother's Integra costume is complete as well~!

Now onto the part I'm sure is the real reason you're reading this post. My progress so far on Matt and Gabumon, though I should just say Gabumon seeing as how he's the only one I've done any work on...

Now that I've updated you, I'm going to try to at least get Gabumon done tonight, so that I can actually work on Matt! Good night!

Pattern progress and an explanation for not posting a Vlog...twice...

Sorry for not posting a Vlog lately, last Wednesday I really had nothing to post, Alicia tried to do an Ichigo Makeup tutorial to post, but wound up (because she doesn't wear makeup outside of cosplay) pouring foundation all over herself and greatly needing my help...so Wednesday was a no-go, then Friday came around and Mom and I spent all day working on stuff and didn't get around to making a video. And today, Alicia is working so I have no one to work the camera...but I'll tell you in my own words what I've gotten done.

I have completed the pants for my Hichigo, and cut out the fabric for the shirt, Hades is absolutely complete! (YAY!!!!!), we've made a muscle shirt out of two black swimshirts for Chernobog, Mom's Integra wig came in at last, and we made new pants for Alicia because she outgrew her pants from last year.

Now that the cosplay stuff is out of the way, I'm sure you want to see what I've don so far on my Digimon pattern!

This pattern is actually going to be rather large, the reason being,I want to make it as detailed and accurate as possible. I really like drawing Gabumon out as a pattern, his stripes are fun (though a little hard to fit all of them in there). I keep having to add more graph to it so that I can make it wider and taller, and I'm sure I'll have to make it much much taller when I add Matt to the image. Overall, I love it and I hope you love it too! Now I'm going to stop typing, put on some music, and get back to working on that pattern. See Ya! <3

Another Vlog, and an update on upcoming patterns, and a shameless picture of my own cosplay.

First things first, I'm going to embed my next Vlog post. I don't have any new progress on Aqua, as the things shown in the videos I've been posting have taken most of my free time, but anyway here ya go.

Now just a quick update on actual cross stitch patterns! I've been watching an old favorite of mine, Digimon, and I will be taking some time away from cosplay to make a pattern of Yamato (Americans know him as Matt) and his digimon, Gabumon. Matt was my favorite growing up, and rewatching the series, I still love him every bit as much as before. The magic of this show just doesn't wear off! I even ran out once in 15 degree weather just to take a cosplay pic of Matt, which wound up looking like this!
Well, all that aside, I hope I didn't bore you too much, and if I did, feel free to post a comment telling me how I can better entertain you!

2 Vlog updates, and pitiful progress on Aqua...

Well I decided it would be more beneficial to make my Vlog posts bi-weekly, so they will be posted on Wednesdays, and Fridays. So I"m going to embed in here for you both today's, and Wednesday's updates on my Vlog, then show off the progress (it's really hardly any progress at all) on my Aqua stitch.

Wednesday's Vlog

Today's Vlog

And here's my pitifully small progress on Aqua, I'll probably work on her some more today, I don't have much to do today, and tomorrow will be spent buying fabric for Dylan's Hades costume. See ya then.

And so the Convention Season begins!!!

The title's a little misleading, as for at least in my mine, the season never ends...but alas, my family seems to think it doesn't start until there's only a couple months away and we've lined up some horribly difficult costume that must be done so it can compete in the cosplay contest.
Anyway, that aside, I'll fill you all in on what I'm rambling about.

Every year my family goes to Anime NebrasKon in Omaha,NE. The first two years, my mom didn't go with us, she was working and not very interested in the whole thing, but since she had to make some 7ft wide bat wings, a spandex nightmare, and Mayuri from Bleach (because there's no simple way to put the trouble he was), she's decided it's worth her time to see the other incredible costumes there are at the con.

This year's line up is as follows.
Me: Hichigo Shirosaki from Bleach
My Sister Alicia(Ami): Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach
My Brother Cameron: Chernobog from Fantasia/Kingdom Hearts
My Brother Dylan: Hades from Disney's Hercules/Kingdom Hearts
My Mom: Sir Integra Hellsing from Hellsing Ultimate
MY Dad: Master Roshi from Dragon Ball Z...because that's who he always is................

To keep interested parties posted, my sister and I decided to do a series of Vlogs on our costume progress, although this video was filmed on Wednesday and we filmed another one today, I just today got the editing done for the first one. I plan to upload one every Friday to keep to a regular schedule.

Feel free to leave questions or comments either on this page or on youtube, and I may answer them in the third vlog (since like I said, the second one is already filmed)

See Ya!

Kingdom Hearts Aqua pattern and AkuRoku day fanart!!!

I was hoping to have started on her before I posted this pattern, but my time was spent on something other than stitching yesterday, fanart and buying thread. Since the only decent thread/fabric/craft store is over 100 miles from where I live, buying thread was an all day adventure for me. (I also did a lot of other shopping...like for new MLP Equestria girls dolls <3 ). Anyway, here's my pattern for Aqua. I really like the three blues in this, and the pink is a nice feminine touch I can't wait to sew.

Now onto the other topic listed in the title, today is AkuRoku day, the day to celebrate the pairing of Axel and Roxas from Kingdom Hearts <3 (due to the day being the 13th, Roxas's number, and the month being the 8th, Axel's Number). For this day I did a mixed media piece. The background is watercolor, their skin is crayon, and their hair is colored pencil. The whole thing was drawn out in pencil, then traced over with manga pens to give it a nice bold look.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pattern, or the art, or both. Both took a lot of time and I love the way they came out. I can't wait to start on Aqua, and probably will when I'm done typing. Until Next time!

Terra Pillow Complete at last! My first pillow ever~

So just last night I finished my Terra pillow, I finished the actual stitch a few days ago, but I figured I wouldn't update until the pillow was finished. His back is a cuddly brown flannel, and his ruffles are a shiny metallic gold (I thought it would suit his earthy color scheme).

I've actually already completed making the pattern for Aqua, but I'm gonna wait until tomorrow to post her, that way I can get started on stitching her on this pretty light blue Aida I found at a thrift store. Let me know what you think, and if you watch this blog and haven't hit the follow button, hit it and comment I'd love to get to know you :)

Reno Cosplay Music Video: Move Along

I have been working on this video for months now, and finally it's done! Please comment and let me know what you think, either on this page, or the youtube page.
I'll have more progress on Terra tomorrow.

UPDATE: Terra WIP and Vacation~

Every year my family goes on vacation to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and we drive down there. That gives me and my mom a lot of down time to actually sew. I'm still working on my stitch of Terra, and I realize I haven't been posting much. He's come a long way since the last picture I posted of him, but the one I'm posting tonight isn't quite up to date either. It was taken just before we left, which was on the 26th. It's a 3 day drive down here to NM, and we just arrived at our hotel tonight. I'm really looking forward to some good spicy food and leisure time.

I plan on having Terra finished by the time I get home on the 9th, at least the cross stitching part. I've already bought the stuff to make him into a cute pillow. He's going to have a brown flannel for the back of the pillow with a trim of gold ruffles. The flannel matches his hair pretty well, and I like how the gold fits the theme of the armor on his shoulder. I can't wait to have him all done so I can cuddle up with him! (And of course take pictures so I can show you).
It's just after midnight local time, although where I live it's already past 1:00 AM. So I really should get to sleep. Happy Stitching~

Progress on Terra and new pattern set announcement! (no new patterns yet though)

I'm finally back from my Disney World Vacation, and I used the down time on the planes (there was no down time on the actual vacation haha) to get some stitching done on Terra. I couldn't help myself when it came to him. I didn't think I'd start on him so soon, but the more I looked at the pattern, the more I LOVE it <3 <3. So I've decided I'm going to do a whole Birth By Sleep Set! I'll be doing Aqua and Ven to accompany Terra, and the two master's, Eraqus and Xehanort. I may do Vanitas, but I don't know for sure. Anyway, here's Terra. I hope you like it and let me know what you think!

A NEW POST AT LAST!!! Terra Pattern: Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep

So I never really did get around to sewing Reno, but a friend of mine has offered to let me borrow their PSP to play Kingdom Hearts BBS!! That caused me to go on youtube and watch a bunch of tributes to Terra (my favorite BBS character), which led me to want to draw Terra, which in turn (after a night of sleep) led me to the insane Idea of making a cross stitch pattern of Terra. So now, after around 5 hours of work to get it just right, here is TERRA!!!!!!!

If you sew this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave a link to a photo in the comments!!! Or email it to me at Musawinxgirl@hotmail.com! Thanks, and see you next post.

Reno Make Up Tutorail~

It's a little later than I usually post (actually A LOT later), but I had to be in public today (OH THE NOES!!) so I decided to look like a human instead of going out in cosplay. So here's the tutorial I did for my Reno make up. I just finished it, but I hope you enjoy it, and I hope by Monday I'll have a stitched Chibi Reno to post!

I'm also going to post this on my deviantart page so if this doesn't blow up to 100% for you, you can probably find it here!

Reno Cosplay pictures

I warned when I said I'd ordered the wig, that there would be quite a few Reno Centric posts to follow it. So todays post is about the photoshoot I had last night. Tomorrow I'll have a picture tutorial on how to do the make up :)

I'm also going to start stitching my own Reno pattern, so that hopefully by Monday I'll have him all finished for you :)

Reno Wig!!

So apparently my Reno wig arrived in the mail days ago, and my dad thought it would be clever not to tell me. So after ganging up on him with my little brother (dad kept running away and hiding the box from me like a 3 year old) I managed to get the box away and see my beautiful new wig.

So I began styling it, and I'll just post a few WIP shots and then the finished product

I'll be posting more Reno Related stuff later in the week, now to make a cake for my brothers' birthday today.
