Some sad news, another con, and musings

With the end of Logan's High school career fast approaching, and college looming over him, our groups prop master has decided to enter the National Guard. While Ami and I are totally supportive of it, (we're having lots of fun imagining him with a buzz cut!), he'll be in basic training during Nebraskon 2015. That means we had to rework our cosplay lineup, one that we'd had planned for nearly a year. We're putting off his Genesis cosplay and Ami's Cloud, in favor of her being the Laguna to my Squall and having our mom play Irvine. That way I can be Zack for 2016 with Cloud and Genesis. We think that should work out.

On the bright side, we got invited to another Mini-con that is just before he enters Basic!! So, we got together and decided we should do something simple and Nostalgic for all three of us. One that'd be fun and make some good memories for him to hold onto during basic training. We went with Hiro Mashima's Rave Master! If you've been reading this blog since the start, then you'll know for a long time I was in love with Musica from Rave Master, so my cosplay was a natural choice. There was no arguing over who was Haru, Logan got his first choice, I got mine as Musica, and Ami squealed at the thought of making Elie and her Tonfa blasters! I even hand stitched a Plue plushie

I've recently started playing FFXII on the ps2, and I think I may be making a few patterns based on that. I went through Dork Stitch's pattern selection, hoping she'd already covered some of the main party, but sadly she hasn't, and there are barely any other patterns out there (aside from Ashe, whom I rather dislike). I would have loved to perler Balthier and Vaan, as they are some of the most fun FF characters I've encountered in a long time. I'm surprised the game has such negative reviews online when I find it to be so much fun! I'm even on the lookout for the spin off Revenant wings for Nintendo DS. I really like the gambit system, which seems to be the main complaint most people have. If they don't like it, you can turn it off, so just do that!

I also bought a psp from Last Stop CD shop the other day along with Kindom Hearts Birth By Sleep, and FFVII Crisis Core. While I still need a memory stick, I've been replaying Terra's Story in BBS and I may finally get around to making that Ventus pattern! I just need a computer that I can call my own! (yep, still using Ami's...still to broke to buy a new one). I am a little stuck in FFXII if any one can help me, I'm fighting the Demon Wall in King Raithwall's Tomb...and it's kicking my ass! Any help will be appreciated, I believe my party's average level is about 16, and everyone but Fran has a staff that deals about 30 damage. Fran has a bow that does about the same. I have a quickening for everyone but Vaan, and Fran, Basch, Ashe, and Penelo have 2-3 quickenings unlocked....I'm not sure what all spells Fran has but its a lot, and everyone has a cure spell but Penelo. They're wearing Chain armor or strong anti magic armor. That's all I can remember about their stats off the top of my head, any help at all is welcome! And if you just wanna talk about the game or the characters or anything else I've mentioned above just leave me a comment!
